Discover What Makes Pleasant Ridge Elementary Special

Pleasant Ridge Elementary School is home to the Gifted and Talented Academy, designed for students who demonstrate academic excellence and have the ability to excel in a dynamic learning environment. Students take part in in-depth studies of science, math, reading, and other subjects; engage in problem-solving and critical thinking; use modern technology as a learning tool; develop leadership skills; and thrive in their ability to think creatively and at a higher level.

The schoolwide enrichment model gives all students the opportunity to explore areas of interest and participate in special activities, including science and math fairs and the concert marching bands. This program also creates a pathway for students to continue in the Gifted and Talented Academy at Cramerton Middle School.

In addition, Pleasant Ridge is proud to be one of only 10 Innovation Schools in Gaston County Schools. This distinction highlights our focus on thoughtful strategies, purposeful teaching, and enthusiastic learning to support student achievement. With additional instructional support and advanced teacher roles, we are committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

We also offer the ASPIRE after-school program, which provides students with additional learning opportunities and enrichment activities in a safe and supportive environment.
